Chapelle Saint Vincent sur la commune de Plouay (56240)

Difficile de dater précisément cette modeste chapelle sans transept, située au bord de la voie antique de Carhaix à Hennebont ou Route Royale de Roscoff à Lorient. Son pignon mentionne la date de 1829 au dessus de la niche coquillée abritant une statue de St Vincent Ferrier. Cette date correspond à un des remaniements qu'a subit l'édifice. La chapelle figure sur les cartes de Cassini vers le milieu du XVIIIe siècle. Une mention est faite pour un rendez vous de chasse du marquis de Pont-Calleck, à la date du 24 septembre 1719.

Une fontaine détruite dans les années 60 et aujourd'hui en cours de restauration, était autrefois la destination de la procession des deux pardons annuels: St Vincent et St Isidore.

Sur le cadastre napoléonien de 1843, elle est mentionnée sous le nom de "Fontaine du Guerveur" du nom du manoir local.
