Description

English: The lithograph shows the English drummer Charlie Watts, who is called Charlie for short in the music scene. His full name is Charles Robert Watts (*1941 - †2021). He was the long-serving drummer of The Rolling Stones from the end of 1963, shortly after the band was founded, until his death in 2021.

Christoph Bouet painted this picture in 2022 as a homage to this musician. Bouet created this lithograph on laid paper for the 60th anniversary (1962-2022) of the Rolling Stones and made it available to the German Rolling Stone magazine for its long-standing subscribers.

The dimensions given are the dimensions of the laid paper (height 30 x width 30 cm), not the smaller dimensions of the printing plate. The print itself was realised by Stephan Rosentreter from the Lithographisches Atelier Leipzig from a zinc plate. In this case it is the print E.A. I (Epreuve d'artiste # I), i.e. the first artist's print that was printed in advance for the artist himself outside of the sold edition.
