Description

A Citânia de Santa Luzia, conhecida localmente como "cidade velha", é um dos castros mais conhecidos do Norte de Portugal e, sem dúvida, um dos mais importantes para o estudo da Proto-História e da Romainzação do Alto Minho. A sua localização estratégica permitia-lhe não só dominar vastas áreas da zona litoral ribeirinha, como também controlar o movimento das entradas e saídas na Foz do Lima que, na Antiguidade, seria navegável em grande parte do seu curso.

O Povoado apresenta características muito próprias, principalmente ao nível das estruturas arquitectónicas, com destaque para o aparelho poligonal, utilizado em algumas casas, que apresentavam uma planta circular com um vestíbulo ou átrio e que, em alguns casos, albergavam fornos de cozer pão. <a href="http://www.cm-viana-castelo.pt/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=377&Itemid=587" rel="nofollow">www.cm-viana-castelo.pt/index.php?option=com_content&...</a>
