Notes The embroidered cloths sent home by Len Truscott were a souvenir of his war – and of his life, because Rifleman Truscott, NZ Rifle Brigade, stayed in France, killed in October 1916. Rifleman Len Truscott, 3rd Battalion, 3rd NZ Rifle Brigade, was wounded on 15th September 1916, Battle of the Somme, France. He was transferred to a General Hospital at Rouen, but died in October 1916 aged 27. He is buried at St. Sever Cemetery, Rouen, in France.
