English: Collar, lace, cotton and linen, machine-made net, appliquéd with muslin and embroidered with various filling stitches, formal flowers and scroll work This bertha collar is made of Carrickmacross applique with needlerun fillings. Organdy was embroidered onto the net and later cut away so that a variety of filling stitches could be embroidered. Circles are embroidered into the net with buttonhole stitches, and the loops on the edge are called "pops". Alwynee Crowsen, Volunteer, Applied Arts
