Description San Francisco est célèbre pour les plus de 50 collines situées à l'intérieur des limites de la commune. Une colline san-franciscaine est définie par une altitude de plus de 30 mètres. Certaines d'entre elles correspondent à un quartier, comme Nob Hill, Pacific Heights, Russian Hill ou Telegraph Hill, d'autres sont des jardins publics ou des parcs comme Twin Peaks, Mont Sutro, Mont Davidson et Buena Vista.
