Description
English: Membrane flow speed distribution in steadily moving cell. Results of the simulations with about 100 embedded transmembrane proteins for 200 seconds. As in other simulations, the membrane flow velocity and tension are computed in the lab frame, but the membrane boundary is allowed to move forward at the speed of the cell. As the cell moves forward, any transmembrane proteins that are displaced more than 1 micron from the leading edge are removed and replaced with new, randomly generated ones within 1 micron of the leading edge. The results are shown in a field of view that keeps pace with the boundary of the membrane.
