"Description Continental European Oil on Canvas Late 18th/Early 19th C., "Portrait of Prince Albert Casimir of Saxony, Duke of Teschen", H 46.5" W 35.5" / 3/4 length portrait of Prince Albert Casimir holding a letter while wearing a white uniform with red and green sash. Along with his governmental and military duties, Albert Casimir was an avid art collector. His collection can be viewed at the Albertina museum in Vienna, Austria. Having a giltwood and gesso frame, H. 51.5" X W. 41.5". Bearing a plaque attributing the painting to Schretter, Austrian 18th century. Condition Relined. Overall craquelure. Areas of flaking with pigment loss at the left edge.Flaking with pigment loss at the center right side. Scattered points of inpainting (likely from previous flaking). 1/8" hole in the lower right corner.
