Dotado de inúmeras valências, é um equipamento de excelência para a receção de congressos, colóquios e simpósios, nacionais e internacionais, participando ativamente no setor do turismo de negócios.

O Convento São Francisco acolhe eventos temáticos relacionados com as áreas científicas, de inovação e de negócio. Constitui uma plataforma dinamizadora de novas oportunidades económicas e de sinergias, envolvendo parceiros nacionais e internacionais, nomeadamente através da participação em redes culturais, de negócio, de conhecimento e de turismo.

No âmbito da missão cultural municipal, o Convento São Francisco dinamiza uma programação artística criativa, que se destaca pela elevada e reconhecida qualidade dos conteúdos apresentados, bem como por um conjunto de propostas culturalmente inovadoras.

O sentido plural e democratizador da sua identidade de projeto concretiza-se numa programação que cruza diversas linguagens estéticas, disciplinas artísticas e abordagens criativas.
