| Description | Constitui um belo exemplo de arquitetura gótica primitiva, na simplicidade das linhas plásticas que caracterizavam a sobriedade dos edifícios ocupados pela Ordem de Cister, aqui patente na fachada limpa e austera. Foi mandado edificar em 1174 por D. Afonso Henriques, que o doou à Ordem. Além da bela igreja de sóbria arquitetura, interrompida por um altar-mor barroco, de 1636, que exibe imagens de S. Bento e de S. Bernardo, conservam-se a ala dos monges, com a sacristia e a sala do Capítulo, um muro do refeitório e o edifício da hospedaria onde se destaca uma loggia com colunas toscanas e um brasão com as armas da Congregação Autónoma (Ordem de Cister) e a data de 1704. <a href="http://www.igogo.pt/igreja-e-mosteiro-de-santa-maria-de-aguiar/" rel="nofollow">www.igogo.pt/igreja-e-mosteiro-de-santa-maria-de-aguiar/</a> |
