Summary[edit]

Description

Ball-and-stick model of copper(I)-chloride, CuCl, as found in the crystal structure. The image shows the 2x2x2 packing with a side view down on the crystallographic a-axis.

Copper chloride adapts the zinc sulfide (ZnS, sphalerite) arrangement in the crystal structure.

Structure determined by X-ray crystallography reported in J. Am. Chem. Soc. (1922) 44, 30–36 (ICSD entry ICSD 23988 and COD entry)1010991.
