Copper alloy book clasp
Description
English: One part of a 'hasp and clasp' type copper alloy book fitting from the post medieval period. Manufactured from 1.1 mm plate it is rectangular in shape with one end bent over to form a hook. The other end is splayed and decoratively cut with notches having a single rivet fixing hole. The upper surface is patterned with a continuous wavy zig-zag line around its perimeter. The reverse is both flat and plain.
