Notes
  • Significance: It was built by the U.S. Forest Service in 1908. With the establishment of Glacier National Park in 1910, the cabin became part of the park's system of back country ranger stations. Before 1930 the two-room cabin had a log addition built on the rear by a frame addition, providing an office for the resident ranger. The cabin, with the exception of telephone installed in the 1920s, has no modern conveniences. The erosion caused by the nearby creek bank forced the Park Service to move the cabin 45 meters east of its original location. Other structures located at the Logging Creek Ranger Station are a Barn (1920), Wood Shed, Oil House, Tool Shed, Fire Cache (1926), and a Fire Guard Cabin (1935).
  • Survey number: HABS MT-85
  • Building/structure dates: 1908 Initial Construction
