Summary

[edit]
Description "Critical Junction: Corinth, Mississippi. Crossroads of the Western Confederacy. The junction of the Memphis & Charleston R.R. with the Mobile & Ohio R.R, at Corinth made this small crossover town the most important transportation hub in the western Confederacy in 1862. That year alone, more than 250,000 Union and Confederate soldiers fought for control of this vital southern rail junction to keep their troops supplied."
