Description

Σταύρωση δεύτερο μισό του 14ου αιώνα, 39,5x50εκ. άγνωστος ζωγράφος από τη Βόρεια Ιταλία ή τη Βενετία

Στην εικόνα ο Χριστός παριστάνεται νεκρός επάνω στο σταυρό. Από τη λογχισμένη πλευρά, τους βραχίονες και τα πέλματά του τρέχει αίμα. Η Παναγία και ο Ιωάννης στέκονται από κάθε πλευρά του σταυρού και με τις χειρονομίες και τις εκφράσεις τους τονίζουν τη δραματικότητα της σκηνής, ενώ στη βάση του σταυρού η Μαγδαληνή γονατισμένη αγκαλιάζει τα πόδια του Εσταυρωμένου. Στο βάθος εικονίζεται το τείχος της Ιερουσαλήμ.
