Deutsch: Kryolith
Sichtfeld: ~ 2,4 cm breit
Fundort: Steinbruch Poudrette, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Rouville RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Kanada
Beschreibung: Gefunden August 1997. MOB coll. Aus dem Poudrette-Pegmatit. Das sieht aus wie ein Foto von nichts – und es sieht persönlich ziemlich genauso aus. Die farblosen Kryolith-Kristalle sind geätzt, abgerundet und klumpig, und selbst der weiße Albit ist nicht scharf kristallisiert. Die olivbraunen Siderit-Rauten sind zu klein und zu wenige, um viel Kontrast hinzuzufügen. Aber so ist es. Wenn Sie wissen möchten, wie Kryolith von MSH aussieht, ist dies ziemlich typisch. Unter einem Mikroskop gibt es viel mehr Kontrast und Definition - aber ich muss noch ein Foto machen, das das beweist! Aber Kryolith ist bei MSH nicht sehr verbreitet, also ist dies eigentlich ein ziemlich gutes Exemplar.

Description: Found Aug 1997. MOB coll. From the Poudrette pegmatite. This looks like a photo of nothing - and it looks pretty much the same in person. The colorless cryolite xls are etched, rounded, and lumpy and even the white albite is not sharply crystallized. The olive brown siderite rhombs are too small and too few to add much contrast. But that's they way it is. If you want to know what cryolite from MSH looks like, this is pretty typical. Under a scope there is much more contrast and definition - but I have yet to take a photo that proves it! But cryolite is not very common at MSH so this is actually a fairly good specimen.
