English: Cup And Saucer (Germany), 1735–45
Description
English: Cup hemispherical, with slight outcurving at edge; cylindrical foot; no handle. Saucer shallow, curved side, slight outcurving at edge. Outside of cup and saucer decorated with slightly mottled red-violet, in which on cup are two four-lobed reserve panels enclosing seaport scenes. Upper face of saucer decorated with seaport enclosed in framework of gilding and colored scrolls. Gilt "lace" borders.
