Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Custer House, 24-A Sheridan Ave., is the house that most closely represents the architecture and style of a home that General Custer and his wife, Libby, would have stayed in at Fort Riley. Quarters 24-A has been restored and is complete with correct time period furnishings.

This is one of the first set of officer’s quarters from the fort’s construction in the mid-1850s. Furnishings date from the 1870s and 1880s. Period rooms include a front parlor, dining room, kitchen, servant’s room, family room and upstairs bedrooms.

A Docent Coordinator is stationed at the Custer House to give you a free guided tour.
