Description
English: The arms of the Amt Gemen-Weseke were granted on August 17, 1949. „The arms shows the colours of Münster with the pales of the Lords of Gemen.The arms show, that the Amt includes parts of both territories"
Deutsch: „Das Wappen des ehemaligen Amtes Gemen-Weseke zeigt in goldenem (gelbem) Schilde zwei rote Balken, der obere mit drei silbernen (weißen) Pfählen belegt.“ Es handelt sich um den münsterischen Balkenschild, vermehrt um den gepfählten Balken der Herren von Gemen. Die Verbindung der beiden Wappenschilder soll daran erinnern, daß das Amtsgebiet bis 1975 sowohl die Herrschaft Gemen als auch vormals münsterisches Territorium umfasste.
