Object history
Deutsch: Die beiden Balken, das Stammwappen der Edelherren von der niederen Grafschaft Isenburg, verweisen darauf, dass Hönningen seit dem 11. Jahrhundert isenburgische Vogtei und nachmals bis 1664 Hauptort der Herrschaft Isenburg-Arenfels war. Die Burgunderrebe bezieht sich auf den althergebrachten Hönninger Rotweinanbau. Das Wappen in dieser Form – Schild jedoch spitzförmig – erscheint schon im Hönninger Schöffensiegel von 1346.
