Deutsch: Die frühesten Belege des Ortszeichens von Bischweier befinden sich am Eingangsbogen zum Keller der ehemaligen Zehntscheune (1604) und, in einen Wappenschild gesetzt, auf einer Inschriftplatte am Rathaus (1609). Es fand auch Verwendung in den seit Mitte des 18. Jahrhunderts nachweisbaren Siegeln der Gemeinde. Die Stellung des Zeichens wechselte, wobei die älteste Wiedergabe an die stilisierte Darstellung eines Hakenpfluges denken lässt, also an ein landwirtschaftliches Motiv. Im Zuge der Revision der badischen Gemeindesiegel und -wappen empfahl das Generallandesarchiv, das Wappen in der im Siegel des 18. Jahrhunderts gebräuchlichen Form und in den Farben Silber und Rot weiterzuverwenden. Diesem Vorschlag stimmte der Gemeinderat im Januar 1901 zu. |
