Deutsch: Das Wappen ist einem alten Schöffensiegel von 1620 nachgebildet. Der schwarze Löwe weist auf die Landesherrschaft der Grafen von Manderscheid-Blankenheim hin. Der hl. Petrus mit seinen Attributen Schlüssel und Himmelsbuch ist der Orts- und Kirchenpatron der Gemeinde Esch.
