Object history
Deutsch: Die drei Rauten sind Bestandteil des Wappens der Ritter von Gebhardshain, die bereits um 1400 Besitzungen in Nauroth hatten. Nauroth gehört bis heute politisch zur Verbandsgemeinde Gebhardshain. Kirchlich war es lange Zeit im Bereich der Pfarrei Gebhardshain und ist heute im Kirchengemeindeverband Gebhardshain-Elkenroth. Ebenso hat der evangelische Pfarrer seinen Amtssitz in Gebhardshain.

Die Hagedornzweige verweisen auf das Wappen der Zisterzienserabtei Marienstatt, in deren Gründungsurkunde aus dem Jahre 1222 mit dem Urkundenzeugen "Henricus de Nuenrode" Nauroth zum ersten Mal urkundlich erwähnt wird. Marienstatt hatte von 1600 bis zur Säkularisation 1803 in Nauroth Besitzungen, das "Abteylische Hofgut zu Nauert".

Die Sonne, das dominierende Element im Wappen, ist einem besonders gestalteten Firstgiebel eines der ältesten Naurother Häuser nachempfunden. Es handelt sich um das etwa 1600 erbaute "Müllersch"-Haus, das bis 1964 in Nauroth stand. Der Überlieferung nach gehörte es dem Zimmermann Johannis Moelr, der an seiner Haus-Nordseite im Fachwerkgiebel eine besondere Schnitzerei, ein Sonnenmotiv, anbrachte.
