Object history
Deutsch: Dieses redende Wappenbild ist historisch begründet. Der Ort "Neu-Bamberg" und seine Burg führten im Mittelalter ursprünglich den Namen "Neu-Baumburg" im Gegensatz zu der eine Wegstunde entfernten "Baumburg" an der Alsenz, die ebenfalls von den Raugrafen im 12. Jahrhundert erbaut und dann in "Alt Baumburg" umbenannt wurde. Das Wappenbild, ein belaubter Eichbaum, ist in einem Gerichtssiegel von 1584 und 1589 (Abdruck in Kreuznacher Privatbesitz) sowie in einem Gerichtssiegel von 1657 zu "Neu Bamberg" nachweisbar (Hessisches Wappenbuch).
