Object history
Deutsch: Ormont und der Ortsteil Neuenstein gehörten in der Feudalzeit zur Grafschaft Manderscheid; in Anlehnung dieses Wappens wurde das goldene Zackenschildhaupt aufgenommen. Konrad von Schleiden, der Erbauer der Burg Neuenstein, führte in seinem Wappen die goldenen Gleven (Lanzenspitzen). Aus dem Siegel eines Johann von Neuenstein sind die fünf Kugeln entnommen. Der goldene Berg im unteren Teil des Wappens symbolisiert den "Goldberg" und den Ortsnamen, der aus dem lateinischen "ad aureum montem" entstanden ist. Für die hl. Margaretha, die Kirchen- und Ortspatronin, stehen Kreuzstab und Drachen.
