Object history |
Deutsch: Aus dem späten 16. Jahrhundert stammt ein Dorfgerichtssiegel, das die Figur des heiligen Laurentius und das Familienwappen des Würzburger Fürstbischofs Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn (1573 bis 1617) zeigt, den Schrägbalken mit den drei Ringen. Im Gemeindewappen wird der Heilige nun durch sein Attribut, den Rost, dargestellt. Ihm ist die Pfarrkirche von Riedenheim geweiht. Der Ort kam 1345 zum Hochstift Würzburg und blieb unter dessen Herrschaft bis zum Ende des Alten Reichs 1803. Unter der Regierung von Fürstbischof Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn wurde der Ort befestigt. |
