Deutsch: Die drei unterschiedlich gestalteten Türme geben wohl in heraldisch stilisierter Form auf dem höheren mittleren Berg den Bergfried des ehemaligen Schlosses und die beiden Tortürme an den Endpunkten der Marktstraße wieder. In den älteren Abbildungen ist am hohen Mittelberg eine Kerbe erkennbar, die als Weg zum Schloss gedeutet wurde. Der Dreiberg redet für das Ortsnamensgrundwort "-berg" und illustriert die topografische Situation der Stadt. Die Verschiedenartigkeit der drei Türme wurde in den Wappenabbildungen seit dem 16. Jahrhundert meist ignoriert. Die Tingierung ist, abgesehen von einigen kleinen Abweichungen im 19. Jahrhundert, gleich geblieben. Der Mitte des 13. Jahrhunderts zwischen Alz und Burgberg von den bayerischen Herzögen gegründete Markt Trostberg wurde 1913 zur Stadt erhoben. |
