Object history Das Zahnrad, ein heraldisches Symbol für Industrie und Handwerk, verweist auf die industrielle Entwicklung der Gemeinde, die 1917 mit dem Bau einer Niederlassung der Süddeutschen Kalkstickstoffwerke in Hart a. d. Alz und 1919 dem Wasserkraftwerk in Mühltal ihren Anfang nahm und zu einem starken Bevölkerungswachstum führte (590 Einwohner im Jahr 1910, fast 1900 im Jahr 1952). Das Kleeblatt steht für die in den vielen Weilern und Einöden dennoch vorherrschende landwirtschaftliche Struktur.
