Object history

Die Einwohner des Ortes Walhausen waren bis 1797 Leibeigene von Kurtier, Sponheim oder Metternich-Beilstein. Die Besetzung der Franzosen machte den verwickelten Verhältnissen ein Ende, weil die ehemaligen Herrschaften entmachtet wurden. Sparrenbalken, Jagdhörner und Muscheln sind Symbole der Adligen aus dem Blankenrather Gerichtssiegel vom 15.03.1775.

Der Ort gehörte zum Blankenrather Gericht.
