DEV-9367A3 postmedieval asymmetrical buckle
Description
English: Postmedieval cast copper alloy asymmetrical buckle frame. The central bar and pin are missing. The surface of the frame has moulded decoration; a rosette at either end where the bar should be, and a larger rosette on the knop on the outer edge of the rounded loop, framed by two scrolls. Small moulded circlets decorate the rest of the surface of the buckle. The buckle dates from c.1575- 1700. For a similar example, see 'Buckles' page 93, number 595 (detailed reference below).
