Description
English: DJ International bus (reg. G700 PNS), a 1989 Volvo Citybus double-decker with Alexander RV bodywork, pictured at the 2009 Glasgow Vintage Vehicle Trust open day. It was new to Strathclyde PTE as their fleet no. AH72, and lasted into the Strathclyde Buses and First Glasgow era, receiving First red livery and later 'Barbie' corporate livery and national fleetnumber 31319. At some point it had entered preservation, however it was sold for further use to DJ in whose livery it's pictured here, presumably as a visitor to be posed alongside other ex-Strathclyde vehicles. While it's displaying route 44 to Eaglesham (which as of 2012 was a First Glasgow route) the sign in the window indicates its work for DJ was on Strathclyde Partnership for Transport schools contracts. It has since passed from DJ to WJC Buses for yet more service; WJC have painted it into their two-tone blue livery, but it still appears at rallies and events, even returning to the GVVT for their 2010 open day.
