Summary[edit]

Description
English: Virgin and Child known as the Dangolsheim Madonna ( detail ), by Nikolaus Gerhaert von Leyden. Walnut with polychromy, dated between 1460 and 1465.

Currently in the Bode-Museum, in Berlin.

This statue is from the Strasbourg Cathedral, and may have served as receptacle for relics of Virgin Mary's veil and hair, so these elements are enhanced.
