Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Back in 2001, David Humphreys wrote his name into the #HeinekenChampionsCup record books. And more than two decades later, no one has been able to put theirs in its place.

The rain and wind was lashing Ravenhill and after the first half there was little for the Ulster fans to shout about, other than two Humphreys penalties as they trailed 13-6 at the break.

But with the wind behind him fly-half Humphreys began to dictate proceedings, and steal the show. The highlight came when he charged down Alex King’s attempted kick and dotted down, converting his own score.

In total he ended the game with one try, one conversions, six penalties and four drop goals for a total of 37 points, as the 1999 champions ran out 42-19 winners.
