Oblong centsprent met 4 rijen met op elke rij een aantal niet omkaderde houtsneden, met op de bovenste twee rijen afbeeldingen van een locomotief (lijkt op de Rocket uit 1829) en een aantal open en gesloten wagons met reizigers. Op de onderste twee rijen wagons met goederen en vee. Bovenaan de prent een tekst van 9 regels met informatie over de Engelse uitvinding, in Nederlands en Frans.
