The Arleigh Burke class destroyer was the target of a suspected terrorist attack in the port of Aden, Yemen, on Oct. 12, 2000, during a scheduled refueling. The attack killed 17 crew members and injured 39 others. The USS Cole is being transported by the Norwegian heavy transport ship M/V Blue Marlin back to the United States for repair. |
