Description
English: A sailor from the USS Cole (DDG 67) is greeted by friends and family members as the crew returns to their home port at Naval Station Norfolk, Va., on Nov. 3, 2000. The Arleigh Burke class destroyer was the target of a suspected terrorist attack in the port of Aden, Yemen, on Oct. 12, 2000, during a scheduled refueling. The attack killed 17 crew members and injured 39 others. The USS Cole is being transported by the Norwegian heavy transport ship M/V Blue Marlin back to the United States for repair.
