Description
English: A sign at the airport in Kangerlussuaq, Greenland, July 27, 2010, points out that the small village serves as the hub of the Greenlandic air system. No two cities in Greenland are connected, except by air or water. Kangerlussuaq, just above the polar circle, is formerly the U.S. Sondrestrom Air Base, which served as a way-point between Europe and the United States during World War II and the Cold War.
