Description

The Deschutes Wild and Scenic River is a popular playground for Oregon and the entire pacific northwest. The BLM works with partners to provide boating, fishing and trail access along the corridor. Curiously, the river is mostly spring-fed by water that percolates through the volcanic rock. The river flow is steady and does not peak with snowmelt – much of its flow is from rain and snow that fell decades ago!

The Bureau of Land Management's recreation resources and visitor services support strong local economies and public land conservation. As we work to enhance recreational opportunities for the American family, we strive to remain a good neighbor. This means respecting how communities use the public lands, as well as including their voices in our management decisions.
