Description
English: (left) Limiting efficiency of a two-terminal tandem solar cell as a function of the top-cell bandgap, for a bottom-cell bandgap EG=1.12 eV, under the AM1.5G spectrum. Calculated for a cell temperature of 25 °C using an extension of the Shockley-Queisser model. (right) Schematic of two-terminal silicon-tandem solar cell. The top cell absorbs high-energy photons, and the bottom cell absorbs low-energy photons.
