Notes Macchi states;?Rome, 1551-1553. Bought at Pierre Berès, Paris, Livres italiens, n. 35. Fulvio Corneo (1517-1583) arms, nephew of the Pope Julius III and bishop of Perugia from 1550 until 1553; it is the only armorial known binding of this prelate. The lower cover shows the inscription FVL.COR.CARD.ET EP. PER. (Fulvio Corneo, cardinalis et episcopus Perusinus): this binding was therefore only possible between 1551 and 1553 as only during this period he was at the same time Perugia bishop and cardinal.
