Description
Deutsch: Die "Blaue Kuppe" ist ein ehemaliger Vulkanschlot aus dem Miozän, einem Zeitalter des Tertiärs, dessen glühende Lava nicht die Erdoberfläche erreichte, sondern erstarrte und im Buntsandstein abkühlte. Die Nutzung als Steinbruch seit dem 17. Jahrhundert gab der "Blauen Kuppe" ihre heutige Gestalt.

Die "Blaue Kuppe" ist Naturdenkmal mit der Nummer ND 636.647 und Naturschutzgebiet mit dem CDDA-Code 81414 und gehört zum Geo-Naturpark Frau-Holle-Land.
