Description

Stick model of the salt [H(OEt2)2]+[B(C6F5)4], i.e. C32H21BF20O2, as found in the crystal structure. The salt is similar to Brookhart's Acid, as both contain the protonated diethyl ether cluster Et2O–H+···OEt2.

Colour code:

Carbon, C: grey
Hydrogen, H: white
Boron, B: pink
Fluorine, F: yellow-green
Oxygen, O: red

Structure determined by X-ray crystallography, reported in Organometallics (2000) 19, 1442–1444 (XEKFUO).

Model manipulated and image generated in CCDC Mercury 3.0.
