Toad Puddle School Toad Puddle School, one of the dozen one room school houses in Newton County was located on the northwest corner of the road leading to Willow Slough from the east. Eight grades were provided for by one teacher during the last half of the 19th Century. Families who attended were: Thomas, Brow, Graves, Purdy, DecCios, Potts, Smith, Dearciurif, Bell, Geese, Adams, Picket, Baker, Ross, Pruett, Paris, Derion, Fagan, Murphy, Hammond and Bower. A School Reunion was held in 1936 with 200 former students in attendance. Cornerstone relocated October 201, Gerald Bom, Historian Scott-Lucas Trust.
