فارسی: خر، الاغ یا درازگوش جانوری اهلی از خانوادهٔ اسبان است. خر وحشی آفریقایی جد وحشی خرهای اهلی است. این حیوان حدود ۵۰۰۰ سال پیش در مصر یا بین‌النهرین اهلی شد. انسان‌ها از این جانور بیشتر برای بارکشی استفاده می‌کنند.
English: The domestic donkey is a hoofed mammal in the family Equidae, the same family as the horse. It derives from the African wild ass, Equus africanus, and may be classified either as a subspecies thereof, Equus africanus asinus, or as a separate species, Equus asinus.
ქართული: შინაური ვირი, ასევე ცნობილია როგორც სახედარი — კენტჩლიქოსანი ცხოველი ცხენის გვარისა. აფრიკული ველური ვირის ქვესახეობა.
Deutsch: Der Hausesel ist ein weltweit verbreitetes Haustier. Seine Stammform ist der Afrikanische Esel. Der Asiatische Esel (Equus hemionus), auch als Halbesel bezeichnet, ist eine weitere wilde Pferdeart, die von der Stammform des Hausesels zu unterscheiden ist.
