Double oval buckle with moulded decoration - underneath
Description
English: Fragment of a cast copper-alloy double loop oval buckle of probable mid 16th to mid 17th C. AD date. The fragment consists of one corner of the buckle. It has elaborate moulded floral decoration all over its upper surface and a double raised border which runs within the floral design, following the lines of the buckle. The edges are wavy due to the nature of the decoration. The reverse is flat and plain. It measures 29.2mm high, by 14.5mm wide and 3.4mm thick. Weight = 8.18g.
