Description
English: A U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Calass Harold P. Johnson stands by as Captain R.P. Rosecrans prepares to taxi his Douglas A-1E Skyraider at Udorn Royal Thai Air Force Base. Note: The date is given as 1968. However the "408" would identify this aircraft as s/n 52-132408. It was in service with the 602nd Air Commando Squadron, 56th Air Commando Wing, and shot down by ground fire 160km of Thanh Hoa over Nghe An Province, North Vietnam, on 11 June 1967. Both crew were rescued by a Sikorsky HH-3E helicopter.
