Title
English: Drawing, Design for Woven Fabric with Neoclassical Motifs, ca. 1820
Description
English: Arranged vertically are two motifs (one is possibly an alternate suggestion). The lower motif consists of a square with decorated subdivision inscribed into a circle formed by a chain. Plants rise obliquely from the corners of the square, their tops being horizontally connected by a rosette and plant motif. The upper motif consists of an arch of a garden of grotesque style, in which a square hangs low, into which a wreath is inscribed. From the pole forming the base of the arch hang chain festoons and gems. A lyre is shown in a circular medallion which is surrounded by stars in the upper part of the arch. Squared with graphite.
