English: Design for a painted porcelain plate, square format. Setting in a museum. Figure of a man in a top hat, left foreground, points to a large painting on the wall of a man holding a knife above a lion. The top-hatted man is asking two ladies, right foreground, if they want an explanation of the painting--he raises his left arm to point at it. Through a doorway, left background, museum visitors view double-hung paintings on the walls.
