Title
English: Drawing, Three Designs for Candlesticks, 1802
Description
English: Horizontal rectangle. Three designs for candlesticks, the same designs that appear in 1938-88-626, with coat of arms of Cardinal Braschi at the pedestals. At left, candlestick A is supported by crouching lions carrying calyces. The pedestal is a richer variation of the one that appears in E in 1938-88-624. The shaft is a foliated baluster above a calyx. At center, B is supported by tortoises upon knobs. The shaft has, below, a bowl in the two calyces; above, a fluted column. At left, C is also supported by tortoises. The shaft consists of a calyx in opposite direction, a capital, and of a column with a base, calyx, spiral flutes and scallops. Scale at lower left.
