English: Dress form for home sewing, brown gummed paper torso on homemade wooden stand with label, "MODEL - YU - DRESSFORM by George - Courts" This dress form was purchased in the 1940s or 50s from George Courts department store on Karangahape Rd. George Courts offered a service whereby a woman could have a dress form created from gummed paper moulded directly on to her torso; the form was then cut off when dry and taped together. |
