English: Mcf1 causes freezing of hemocytes. Confocal timelapse movie showing embryonic hemocytes expressing RFP in an embryo injected with GFP expressing E. coli producing Mcf1. Top panel shows the red channel (RFP), the middle shows the green channel (GFP) and the lower is the merge. Whilst the hemocytes (red) are able to detect the bacteria (green) they are unable to move and appear completely frozen as seen following injection with Photorhabdus (compare with Video S2). Movie duration is 50 minutes. |
